True feeling of Japanese people who “like” drama and music
Wherever we live, we frequently ask this question; “What do you do on weekend?”
Some Japanese say I watch foreign dramas or listen to my favorite music.
If you get the answer, you should think he or she is literally “FREE”. I mean, they just spend weekend on doing something by themselves.
They may not have close friends to hang out with.
Unfortunately, I also watched a romantic comedy movie last weekend by myself.
Please don’t look down on me but just enjoy the review of film.
2 Casts appearing on 『Grey’s Anatomy』 too
I always watch foreign dramas and films with Hulu.
『Made of Honor』 came out in 2008.
I’m not a person like watching romantic movies so I’ll share the reason why I watched it.
I just happend to find the film was made with 2 actors also appearing on 『Grey’s Anatomy』, which is one of the most popular drama in U.S and I like it very much.
The actors are Patrick Dempsey and Kevin Mckidd!!
Currently, I’m watching Season 9 of Grey’s Anatomy. These two actors are main ones on the drama.
That’s why I have nothing but watching Made of Honor.
Summary of 『Made of Honor』
Made of Honor revolves around Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and Hannah (Michelle Monaghan), who have been platonic friends for 10 years.
He’s a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn’t found Mr. Right.
Just as Tom is starting to think that she is relationship material after all, Hannah gets engaged with a guy from Scotland.
When she asks Tom to be her “maid” of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.
I don’t suppose we actually have situations like that but it’s just a film.
Kevin Mckidd plays the role of Hannah’s fiancé.
Honestly, I felt like watching Grey’s Anatomy because of the actors.
I won’t tell you the ending and it’s available on Amazon like below.
I don’t like the content of movie so much so the rating is 2.5/5 for me.
Considering the casts, it would be 3.5/5.
My 2 best scenes
I don’t think it’s so good a movie but I have 2 favorite scenes.
Hannah’s deceased father knows everything about his daughter
One scene is when Hannah and her mother talk at night close to the wedding.
Her mother gives Hannah an album from her childhood.
There are a lot of memories and also pictures with Tom when they go to Paris for a trip.
We can find Hannah’s dad has been dead from their chat.
Then, her mother tells Hannah like below.
“Your dad is wrong. He supposed you would get married to Tom.”
When Hannah hears it, she seems to realize her true feeling and I like it.
That’s why we can say like parents know everything about their children.
A punch by Colin(Kevin Mckidd) with his anger
This scene is showed during the wedding so end of end in the movie.
You might wonder why I selected it as my favorite scene though it’s a romantic movie.
Please take a look at below.
Can you imagine how bad you get a punch from him looking like a wrestler?
The scene is so impressive when I imagine that.
Hulu is actually a great service for those who wanna watch a bunch of movies.
Honestly, I’ve never rented any CD or DVD from Japanese video shops.
How about starting it if you haven’t used?
